Hi AllenBlackwell,

Check this Article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310440/en-us

I could see it's happening to "Mailbox:Jane.Bennett@csbf.org.uk"

1.> Is this error also comes for other mailboxes?
If NO, then try to move this mailbox to other store / SG\store and check the application log

2.> Have you stopped all the Exchange services and rebooted the server?
If, not please do and see is this fix your issue.

Above artical is for Exchnage 2000, we are on 2003, shall I go ahead with registory settingd?

1. This happeng to all, Event log is full EXCDO erro for all most all users

2. I have just rebooted the Server and dismouted and remounted Publich folder couple of times.
Did not stop any services before rebooting.

Also when I click on the properties for Schedule+FreeFirst (Admin Group\Server\First Storage Group\Public Folder Store\ Publuc Folder) from System Manager on Exchnage server
I get an error "The HTTP service used by public folder is not available puasible causes are public store are not mouted and the information store service is not runing"
but the sotre is mouted and information store service is runing, we are recieving emails

Hi AllenBlackwell,

1. The mentioned Article applies to Exchange 2003 as well.
    - Yes, Make sure to have registry and Exchange backup before the activity.

2. For "The HTTP service used by public folder is not available puasible causes are public store are not mouted and the information store service is not runing"
   - Try stopping the Public Store in System Manager and then restart - Most of the this this fix the above issue.

1. Just looked at the registory on the Exchnage server the registory MSExchnageFBPublish key is there with right paramets and system attendent settings. Artical says do this if above is missing, but its there with right settings. Is there any thing else I can try? have restarted system attendent, Info Store and IIS as well just now. Its been going on for 2 days, I really neede to fix this before every one start complaining

2. By stoping you mean dismounting? coz stop is grayed out (there is start Inc/Full population)

You mentioned:
2. By stoping you mean dismounting? coz stop is grayed out (there is start Inc/Full population).
-  The above says your PF store stopped. Start it and check (since you have start visible)

As you know this problem has no fixed solution.  We need to isolate and find the root cause.

OK from the toplevel Exchange System Manager (ESM) I stopped Public Folder Content Replication and then Start Public Folder Content Replication, I will see if this does any thing ...

Still the same thing, when I try to add new calendar appointment Outlook crashes or hangs. On the task bar I get warning Outlook is trying to retrieve information from the server. Users are unable to snooze or dissmiss appontments / tasks popups - Emails are working as normal

Are all the outlook 2003 configured to run in Cached Exchange Mode, if yes please remove or uptick this option or create new outlook profile and test the free + busy behaviour?

Are you still receiving 8206 event?
It's not so simple to troubleshoot PF Free+busy issues, as Ive gone through many of them.

Is the behaviour same for newly created mailbox?
Is this issue with only one server? If yes, moving a mailbox from the server in question to other should work fine.

All PC are runing Outlook 2003 with cache mode and all Citrix user are on live server mode (without cache). I am on a PC and have removed my profile are created a new one, same issue is occuring.

Yes, 8206 event is still happening for all users.

I haven't tried creating a new mailbox yet.
We have only one Exchnage server and 2 DCs

Microsoft Engineer solved the issue by runing a registory scan (HKCRSan.exe) and deleting Nf0495498 (registory Key) and rebooting Exchange server, we paid around £241.79 for this support.

When you run HKCRScan make sure it runs all the way through HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.

If this tool cannot scan the entire HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT component of the registry; this also means that Exchange & IIS won't be able to proccess it either.

If this is the case you need to use the Sysinternals tool "RegDelNull" to emunerate & remove the problematic entries. It deletes Registry keys that contain embedded-null characters and that are otherwise undeleteable using standard Registry-editing tools.

Run this tool with the following switches & remove the keys causing the issues. Make sure you backup your registry first!!!

"RegDelNull -HKU -s" followed by "RegDelNull HKLM -s"

Restart the "System Attendant" service.
