ASP.NET 2.0 controls not recognized by intellisense in vs 2008

I have a web site that vs 2008 seems to think is not an ASP.NET 2.0 web site, at least the asp:xxx controls are not recognized. This worked a few weeks aog, but now does not work. I ran a complete repair of VS 2008 and the problem persists. Other web sites are fine. Is there some flag that got messed up in the properties? When I look at the properties, it says the target framework is 2.0.

It does happen sometimes. The web.config file is the file which i think might be corrupted.

I reinstalled VS 2008 and this solved the problem. I'm not sure what the cause was. When done, the same web.config worked OK, so it was not the web.config.

So the VS installation was corrupted.

    Accepted Solution

Apparently the VS installation somehow got currupted months after the original install. I have no idea which part of the reinstall was what fixed it.
