Low Disk Space alert

Hi Guys,

I keep getting these report come in from our SBS server:

Alert on HCDPSBS at 2/12/2009 11:38:14 AM

The following disk is low on free disk space. Low levels of free disk space can cause performance problems and prevent users from saving files on the disk.

Drive Letter: HarddiskVolume4
Free Disk Space: 0.000000. MB
% Free Disk Space: 0.000000.%

You can disable this alert or change its threshold by using the Change Alert Notifications task in the Server Management Monitoring and Reporting taskpad.

It's on a HP ml350 and I've checked the HP array manager for the RAID status, that's showing no errors and we only have a C: (System) and S: (Data storage) drive, I can't seem to find where the "harddiskvolume4" is. Though we've recently plugged in an external HDD as an extra backup measure, it's the only USB device plugged in and the errors have been showing since before we plugged it in.

Also checked the storage manager snap-in but nothing there to indicate a harddiskVolume4 which is making me nervous!

Has anyone else experienced this at all?

Thanks.

Get in Array configuration Utility and expand all HD then take a snapshot picture of it. Post that picture here. If you can, also post the picture of your Disk management.

This could also causes by the phantom drive (cache image drive of USB or USB stick). This phantom drive can be removed via Disk Mananager. Reboot your server after removing the drive. There is nothing serious happening in your RAID as well as logical volume.

Screenshots attached as requested - You can see that we have a RAID 5 array with 2 partitions and 1 USB external HDD attached. We have a USB license pen plugged in but that has always been there and has never given any errors, it's just to license the software that they use.

Thanks!

Everything looks absolutely normal. The warning is somewhat on the external device that you plug in periodically and should be fine to ignore. The warning may be gone after reboot your server. Schedule a reboot in the off hours and post back the result.

Ok, will do - Won't be able to do this for a few days though due to the nature of the business but as soon as I've had a chance to I shall post back with any changes.

Thanks for your help so far!
