Outlook 2003 keeps hanging

My boss uses outlook 2003 and its been hanging quite often for about a month now. I have reinstalled outlook and even set up auto archiving to reduce the mail file size on the server so that it will be below 1GB. We have exchange server 2003. This morning she hasn't been able to send emails. Outlook keeps saying "Trying to connect..." to exchange server. I am currently removing and reinstalling office 2003. Her archive.pst file is currently over 2GB. I removed the exchange email account, but outlook wouldn't even fully open. Then I removed the archive.pst mail file from the account in control panel...no difference.

Hi,
Delete her Outlook Profile. Once deleted, make sure that you remove everything from the Outlok Folder, ideally cut paste to some other place, as you might require NK2/ST later on. Then recreate the Outlook Profile. Also try Repairing Outlook.
Let me know
Thanks

Her laptop was connecting to an unknown wireless network that wasn't on our LAN, hence she couldn't connect to exchange. Kindly let me know what is NK2/ST though.

When uninstalling Office 2003 because of faults or issues its best to use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

This makes sure that nothing is left behind.

*Note: Office must be currently installed to use this utility, as you will use this utility to uninstall office as opposed to Add Remove programs

Once uninstalled, re-install office, make sure that you have installed SP3:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e25b7049-3e13-433b-b9d2-5e3c1132f206&DisplayLang=en

and try again

NK2 File is usedd for Autocomplete of email addresses, that have already been used earlier. When you type in TO/CC fields you see autocompletion of names
PST: is used for archiving mails to localfolder, that means mails are removed from server and moved to a local file on PC
Glad to help
Thanks
