Unable to change power options

I am unable to change the power options to my OS. When I go to power option properties in the control panel there are no "themes" to choose from and the section of power options is greyed out. (see attachemnt)

Any suggestions?

I corrected this somewhat. Spoke to dell and they told me that the profile was corrupted and I should create a new one. In the new profile  the power options application works but needless to say getting all my files over to this new profile is somewhat a "pain". It works however. If anyone knows how to correct the original profile so that power options works I would appreciate to hear from you (short of  reinstalling the OS).

A corrupt profile is "one of those things" which occurs now and then. Copy your desktop items over, take ownership of your My Documents folder and copy the contents into the new My Documents and anything else you need. Delete the original profile.

Take ownership of files and folders XP
