Looking for a tool to do:
Webinars - product demonstrations to multiple people (option to record is preferred)
Remote Training - ability to display trainer's screen or a specific student's
Remote Access Support - connect to and control a user's PC and send, receive files. With ability to reboot and re-connect

Citrix, Cisco, pcVisit, any others?

Only Windows and MAC is necessary.

Which do you prefer, and why?

Thanks MM.

For any experts who might have an opinion and want to earn the points for it....

Current front-runner seems to be the Citrix GoToWebinar product.

Hey GLComputing,

I'm not too sure how it would stand up to all your requirements as I have only used the Remote Control aspect of it. However, I know that TeamViewer has support for doing presentations to multiple users, sharing screens in either direction and so on. It might be worth a look: http://www.teamviewer.com/

For remote control, TV (like pcVisit) is pretty good, and it's not to bad for small presentations.

But it doesn't support larger presentations or recording of the webinar, and for training, it's a bit messy to switch to a user - they have to install the application

It is pretty much a free product and is mainly aimed at a more home / small business environment rather than corporate. Perhaps the Citrix solution can help you :-)

Yup... although, the once off (not monthly) fee is attractive. Just lacks a could of features I want :-(

Hi GL,

Good to see you on here. We already spoke a bit on this on Twitter the other day, so I won't repeat myself here. I am not sure about the reboot and re-connect feature being available in the solution I mentioned before to you, but I would be glad to find out., and otherwise it fits your needs perfectly in my opinion.

I can be reached through my profile here on EE if you like.

Good luck,

Anthony

Anthony,

How does you product compare to GoTo Webinar for price / features?

Happy to do this off-line if you prefer.

Feel free to contact me directly through my contact information in my profile here on EE.

I'd rather not point out price/features on EE.

For the time being, we have elected to go with GoTo Webinar ... simply on the basis of the much cheaper pricing and the inclusion of GoTo Meeting for basic support.

We will revisit this in about 6 months or so once we have a better feel for the numbers of people we will be presenting to
