I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you are using a Virtual Center server, you would add your new licenses to your Virtual Center server. If you don't use Virtual Center, you would use a host based licence to manage your server.
This link will give you a crash course in licensing.

If you're using Virtual Center  do the following:

1.  Purchase new license and register at vmware
2.  Create a new license file on the vmware website and download
3.  On the VMware Licnese Server copy and paste new file license file in the correct location
4.  Reread the file in vmware license server
