How do mp3 search engines work?
How do mp3 search engines such as http://skreemr.com work? Do they just search google, do they actually have a spider, or?
Like most search engines, I believe they index/crawl sites on their own to provide users with search results. Now, that's just for the song files that come up in search results. Much of the information that is shown in the results (links to Amazon, Song/Artist data, etc.) is likely pulled from web services, API, etc.. The links to search on other sites are just dynamically generated from your search terms, based on the URL structure of those sites (ie: wikipedia.org/yoursearchte rm).
