the richedit is on the component pallet and described in the Delphi help

what is exactly you are trying to accomplish ?

you want to format your sql text ?
try the synedit component
http://synedit.sourceforge.net/

Actually i try to put different color on my  font

say example i have text below

I would like to know more..

and i want to change color of "like" to green color.
I was using Tmemo but noticed that Tmemo has no such control so now i change it to
RichEdit.
Need some guide on how to use RichEdit.

you need to select what you want to change,
then use the properties of the selected text to change them

and other way would be to add a actionlist,
add all the default actions for the richedit
add a toolbar
add enough buttons for these default actions
and assign the actions to these buttons

you needn't even worry about the code,
you can use it like the formatting toolbar of word

you will still need to use a TFontDialog for the selected text color changes :

procedure TForm1.SpeedButton1Click(Sender: TObject);
begin
  if FontDialog1.Execute then
  begin
    RichEdit1.SelAttributes.Color := FontDialog1.Font.Color;
    RichEdit1.SelAttributes.Name := FontDialog1.Font.Name;
    RichEdit1.SelAttributes.Style := FontDialog1.Font.Style;
  end;
end;
