Is this printer connected via USB or Parallel cable?

If via parallel cable remove the cable from both computer and printer(turn the printer off first) and reconnect then try to print.

Do yo have a different parallel cable to test with? try that too.

hi nappy_d,

i have this printer installed on the XP machine by  IP addresses and its connected via USB

IP addresses have nothing to do with USB. Check under the Ports tab in printer properties and tell us what connection it's using.

If you are using IP, check that the driver is using the address the printer uses.

I'm sorry but I don't really understand. If you can ping it and it's working then whatever was wrong before seems to be fixed now.

I don't know what you mean about the other printer, but the USB connection has nothing to do with printing PDFs.
