Need Broadcom Bluetooth Stack for Windows - site down

Hi All,

http://www.broadcom.com/products/bluetooth_update.php

I have been trying to get to this site for a couple weeks now to download the Broadcom Bluetooth Stack for Windows XP. I've used the Broadcom (CSR?) stack with Vista and the phones and it worked fine.

Is there another place to download this? I have the Toshiba stack installed, but it doesn't work with my Blackberry 8120, 8800.

Thanks!

Have you perused this article and tried the steps in it:

Setting Up Bluetooth Sync in Windows XP Using Blackberry Desktop Manager on a Dell D630

http://banagale.com/setting-up-bluetooth-sync-in-windows-xp-using-blackberry-desktop-manager-on-a-dell-d630.htm

While it does address Dell hardware, which you may or may not have, the information isn't specific to Dell.

ASKER

@jdera - this link results in a file called Download_DriverDetective-6.3.1.2-TrialVersion.exe  - I am not sure I want to run this file.

@souseran - I have not tried this, though I've had it bookmarked. I've used the CSR Drivers before on Vista with a far simpler process (run an installshield package) that is supposed to be on the site i mentioned above. As far as OEM - the recommended stack is the Toshiba one for XP.

The installer I downloaded was VFPsetup-32.exe from the ASUS Website - see Notebooks, G1 Series, G1S, then Vista 32 - Bluetooth - 9.5MB

Properties of this install say: Company CSR, Version: 12.0.0.49974, Product: Vista Feature Pack Version: 1.03.0000

I think this might include some version of the WIDCOMM drivers, but unsure.

Technically this laptop isn't supported in Windows XP -  the Toshiba Drivers work, just the Blackberry program doesn't recognize the stack - hence, one option was to install it the way you suggested. The Blackberry Site suggests to remove the Toshiba Stack and use the Microsoft Stack - but I tried removing and never got the Microsoft Drivers.

The Toshiba Drivers that I have installed in Windows XP are from this site:
http://asusg1s.wikidot.com/installing-windows-xp

This link I just found might help restore the microsoft stack:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883258

So I am at the point now where I have removed all the drivers. I have a USB Device appearing in Device Manager with no drivers found. I am not getting the microsoft stack either. I am using Windows XP SP3.
@souseran - so looks like i have circled back to this link you just posted - vinsvision. However, I am not quite sure what I am supposed to do!
@souseran - you are a life saver!!!

Here is the final installation procedure - note this also fixed my windows bluetooth stack! money!

Glad I could help. Please review this Help topic for assistance on grading my Answer

What's the right grade to give?

https://www.experts-exchange.com/help.jsp

Grading at Experts Exchange is not like school. It's more like the "10-point Must" system in professional boxing; in other words, an answer is worth an A, unless it doesn't resolve your issue. If it requires you to do a little more research, or figure out one more piece of code, then it's worth a B. If you think it's not worth a B, the custom is to offer the Experts an opportunity to earn a better grade.

#

Based on that, I believe my answer is worth a B as it required "you to do a little more research, or figure out one more piece of code."

With that in mind, I request that you close the question with the assignment of points and a grade, and am filing an objection to your current closure request
The solution that was provided by the expert put me in the right location, however, I had to understand what the information at the link was trying to say and then dig through the solution site to find out more information. I hadn't really followed the link until i circled back to the site based on another posting in another forum. That forum posting had identified vaguely to download additional drivers. From that I found the section on the site that resolved my issue. See my final comments. Thanks to sousesan for correcting me on my grading as well.
