Lotus Domino 6 and BES Server

Hello

I just setup a BES Server with Domino 6.  For the most part it's working except when I send an email from a Notes Client to the Blackberry and then have the BlackBerry Reply. The reply has the notes addressing format ie  John Down/Office/Domino and I think that is the problem.  If  I send in the internet format of jdoe@internet.com it work fine both ways.  Is there a way to change outbound intenet format in Domino?

In the server configuration document for the server running BES, Mime Tab - conversion options - outbound, make sure that "Lookup Internet address for all Notes addresses when Internet address is not defined in document:" is enabled and then "Perform exhaustive lookups when converting Notes addresses to Internet addresses:" is also enabled

Ok

Here is what seems to happen now.  BB user gets an email fron Notes Client in Notes Format (john doe/office/domino), replys back to message which then gets sent to Domino.  Domino has a smart host setup so it sends it to Anti-Spam/MIME server.  I see email stuck in MIME with Notes Format and it can't send it back to Domino because of the werid format.  Does that make sense. I bet if I removed smart host it would probably work.  Also, if there were a way to setup Domino to use juse internet address that would probably work too. any more ideas?

How many Domino servers do you have? Are they in the same Domino domain?
Do you populate internet address field in your users person documents?
Do you have global domain document configured and what are the conversion options there?

One Production Domain Server.  On another Box I have BES w/ another copy of Domino Server installed per BES instructions.   Yes they are in the same Domain.  Internet address field are populated for all users.  I have a global domain doc oconfigured with

General Tab:
   Return Receipts: Enabled
   Return receipt mapping:  Use Disposition-notfication-to

Outbound conversion option:
Lookup Internet address for all notee addressses when internet address is not defind = Enabled
    Perform exhaustivelookups = Enabled

If I could just chane the outboud format to a normal internet address.

thx

What do you have in the Global Domain document? Within your address book, look under Configuration - Messaging - Domains, you should have your global domain document there. What options do you have on the conversions tab within global domain document?

please check that:
both production and BES Domino servers are in the same domino domain (server document, Basics tab, "Domain name" field
the users have the same domain set in the person documents (person document, "Domain" field)
address book profile has the same domain specified (open your address book names.nsf, click on "Actions" menu on top, then "Edit directory profile". Check that "Domain Defined by this Domino Directory" is matching your domain).

The reason I am asking for all these checks that proper domino address should be john doe/office/domino@dominodomain (where dominodomain is domino internal domain and not your internet domain).  In your scenario, the reply goes to john doe/office/domino and domino domain part is missing

Here is somemore info.

when I reply from the BB I can see that it goes to Domino Server on BES Server which then passes it to Main Domino Server which then sends it to our MIME Server.  Our Main Domino Server has a host rely setup to forward to MIME when sending internnet email.  What's werid is that I don't know why it just doesn't go to Main Domino Server.  What the Main Domino Server shows in console looks like this "Jake_Brody/Patten%/Patten@patncorp.com VIA smtp.  It thinks it an internet email but is really a local Domino user.  i can see all my replys stuck in our MIME server with Notes Format.
thx

The situation you are describing matching blackberry technote http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB01897

however, you already checked global domain document and  internet address field are populated for all users, so somehow Blackberry Domino server does not see this configuration, so something is not matching
