How do you setup and apply a SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record?

I send mail from one mail server with a public IP address that is tied to one domain.  Lately, some of the other companies I email have been rejecting my email due to my DNS not having an SPF record.  I realize that in most SPAM filters you can allow exceptions to not check the SPF record, but I would rather learn how to correctly set this up on my end.

I did some research on the Internet i.e. 'googled' it and I am still fuzzy on where you set the record up at.

Thank You

Thank You.  That is the best tutorial I have seen for an SPF record.
