How Do I Turn a Photo Slideshow into a DVD Movie Using iDVD

I'm using a Mac Powerbook G4 running OS X Leopard and iLife '08. I have about 80 photos in iPhoto that I would like to burn into a movie photo slideshow on a DVD disc that I can then distribute to friends to play directly on the home DVD players w/o the need to stick the DVD disc into their computer.

iPhoto has a "Send to iDVD" option under the Share menu. I click on this and it opens up into iDVD Preview window but my photos are not being displayed?? What am I doing wrong??

Thanks for the link LyonJay, but this says absolutely nothing about moving the photos over to iDVD, which is what I need to do in order to make a video slideshow playable on any home DVD player.

This is for adding photo's into iMovie:

So much for iMovie & iDVD being considered defacto standards for consumer video editing. I was able to get these photos into iMovie & copied to a disc but the quality of the photos was noticeably degraded.

So I went ahead and bought a commercial product ProShow Gold which did the job nicely w/o no noticeable degradation of photo quality.
