How to import WMV files to IPhone (M4V)?
I just bought an IPhone and have wmv files (movies made with Windows Movie Maker) that I would like to import to ITunes. Is there a shareware or cheap converter that you would recommend that I can use to do this easily?
I have googled and found lots of solutions that look like ripoffs and/or bundles of spyware/trojans.
I don't mind paying if I have to (free is better), but I would like some recommendations first.

You could use Handbrake.

I installed Handbrake. It looks like it should do the trick. However, when I tried to convert my WMV file it did not work. I looked at the log, and it had error messages that said this was not a CD, and it could not find certain headers. etc. I could not find a setting to say this was a Windows Movie Maker file not a CD. Any suggestions?

Handbrake is on Mac and Windows. It can now read a wide range of video formats. http://handbrake.fr

Sorry sems, Free IPod Video Converter does not convert to M4V - which is what the IPhone uses.

I got Handbrake v9.3. Every time I tried to run it, it started and then abruptly ended without any messages. When I tried to look through the error log, it said it can't decode my file because it doesnt have a DVD header. But this is not a dvd, its a WMV file.
