Safari 3.0 MAC plugin

Hi everyone,
I am looking for a safari plugin where I can specify the download destination for specific files (file type, character being used in the file name...)
should I develop a safari plugin, or an apple script?
thanks a lot

I think best way to achieve this would be with a Folder Action.

So basically a special kind of AppleScript that can be attached to a folder (say the Downloads folder) that could move the files around after they all went into the Downloads folder to start with.
