Dear Support,

I have been using a trial of Symantec Backup exec 12.5 and due to problems with backup exec it was uninstalled from out windows 2003 server. After it was uninstalled NTbackup has stopped working and error Event ID 8017, NTBackup error: 'The requested media failed to mount. The operation was aborted.'

If I use Computer Management to free the LTO Media I get error Removable Storage a resource required for this operation is disabled.

NTbackup just keeps saying, Required media missing

This must be because Backup exec 12.5 and its control of the media but I am unable to see any services that say Symantec and the Removable storage service and dependencies are running ok.

I guess reinstalling ntbackup is an option.

regards
adam
