pc won't boot, contstant beeping

Hi All,
I have a pc that wont boot, it is a hp pc.
Basically the lights come on etc, no monitor.
It is making the following beeping pattern,
approx 7 seconds  of a beep, approx 7 seconds silence, approx 2 seconds beep, approx 2 seconds silence, approx 7 seconds  of a beep, approx 7 seconds silence, approx 2 seconds beep, approx 2 seconds silence  etc..etc..etc...
Does anyone know what this beeping represents?  or is there good website that explaines beeping patterns? i.e what part of hardware could be in trouble.
Hope someone can assist.
Stephen

The meaning depends on your motherboard. So first find what the manufacturerof your motherboard is, then search on internet on "motherboard+beep+<yourmanufacturer>"

It might also be in the manual of your motherboard (if you can find it)

Just as example, here's a page which shows some meaning of motherboard beeps.

here's a link which could help you with HP/compaq beep codes.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=ca&docname=bph07107

my suggestion is to try to re-seat you RAMs. and check also your Power source, it could be an insufficient power.
