How can I install Windows Small Business Server 2008 Premium?

I cannot install my New IBM X3400 as the serverguide version does not know about Windows small Business 2008. Stand alone install of Windows SBS 2008 fails as it cannot install updates (drivers are missing).

Get your RAID controller drivers on a USB stick and load them when the time comes. Plug the USB stick in AFTER the WinPE environment finishes booting to eliminate any possibility of the BIOS changing the boot order to the USB flash drive first.

Make sure that your server is x64 capable and has at least 4GB of RAM. We find 6GB to be the minimum for decent performance.

Also, if you are running the install without the Answer File, make sure you UNCHECK the "Get Updates" option when you come to it or the install will fail.

Some of the available updates will choke the server on install, but work fine once the OS has booted and the updates are delivered via WSUS.
