MOSS 2007. HTTPContext nothing for SPItemEventReceiver (ItemUpdated event)

I have tring to write code when a list item is modified to send an email. This is a very old application where there is already code which has different calls to different assemblies and users HTTPContext to create message and send the email. All i have to do is pass the values to that fn. Now the issue is when override the ItemUpdated Event the HTTPContext is nothing which is causing me lot of issues.

Can anyone help me?

Itemupdating event worked for me.
