credit card validation

Hi -- I need to adjust this code to work on a form submit upon code being valid and i'm having problems. Right now if its valid a message box pops up -- instead, I want to use the form action property upon form fields being valid.  I also have to add in a cvc code for error checking as well. Let me know if anyone has any insight.
<!-- TWO STEPS TO INSTALL CREDIT CARD VALIDATION:

  1. Copy the coding into the HEAD of your HTML document
  2. Add the last code into the BODY of your HTML document -->

The code above works just fine.  When i comment out line 74 i get a js error.  I need the form to submit if valid instead of a popup message.

Have a look at the code.

I added an onSubmit event to the form, calling the checkSubmit() function. This one calls
the CheckCardNumber() function and does the actual checking. I had to change this function
so it returned false or true for an invalid or valid card.

Adding a check for cvc or cvv code will be hard or impossible.
Have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Card_Security_Code

Great thanks that works just fine now -- The cvc code check i'm thinking of is making sure its a 3 digit code unless american express is selected in the dropdown then it should be a 4 digit.

Checking the length of cvc code, won't garantee that it is a valid one.

The algorithm is only known to the credit card providers.

i'm just trying to catch as much as i can before the generic error code of my merchant account pops up.  I'm unable to edit those error messages therefore, i'm adding in some basic validation to catch some prior to receiving the merchants error page is all.  Any insight on adding the basic cvc code length based on cctype to the above code would be great!!

Ahhh, ok. :-)

Here it is:

I added a cvc form field. It's checked whether it's not empty, it's numeric and its length should be
3 or for the American Express 4.
