No clue. I can only say that kSpam does a great job when it comes to avoiding spam. See http://www.openntf.org/projects/PMT.nsf/ProjectLookup/kSpam

Does Brightmail just do SMTP filtering on incoming and outgoing or does it also check the mail box itself.

I would read the docs, since I have never used it.

It should not be difficult.

I hope this helps !

Hi,
It checks only  the inbound mails for spam and filters it.

You should not be using port 26. Go back to port 25, then enforce no inbound connections except from the Brightmail authorized IP addresses, via the Server Configuration document(s). That's really all there is to it.

If Brightmail is using TLS, it is slightly more complicated. You have to enable TLS in the server document, and then you'll have to decide whether you need a setup that only supports TLS or allows non-TLS internally.

Hi,
I have configured this since 2 years and it was working fine. My brightmail server accepts traffice from outside only on port 25 but all commmunication with the mail domino server on port 26.

If it was working fine, why doesn't it now? Did you do an upgrade?? If that's so, you should have supplied that information, and much more. What was upgraded: Domino, or Brightmail, or the O/S? What were the previous versions? And what doesn't work now? Does mail pass through or not?

Hi,
The Brightmail version is same as earlier, as the Brightmail service wasn't starting i need to reinstall the Brightmail software. Currently mails are received but with all spam and no filtering is done by the Brightmail .
