This is a Toshiba Satellite Laptop running XP home. Model # A60-S159!ST. I have tried going through the Toshiba Laptop Program in the Control Panel as well as through the BIOS (F2) on startup. I can blank out the password however on restart it asks for it anyway. My client is annoyed with having to type it in.

Thx for the info. I have read this in the multitude of BIOS password articles. However I have the password, i just want it to stop asking for it. Am I correct in assuming that it must be removed in this manner for it to stop asking for it?

If you can't remove it in other ways, yes...

Hmm removed the wifi card and cannot locate C561 to short pins 1,2. Any ideas?

    Accepted Solution

So basically the only solution is to take it to a Toshiba Service Center which is not really an option on a laptop this old. We'll just live with the password.
