One questions here,-
1. How did you create the ipsw? using QuickPwn/WinPwn sort of tools? or did you download it from internet.

Dont worry! i think you are a bit confused about this process. Find the answers to your questions below,-

1. When you unlock the iphone, it does mean that your iphone is no longer tied up with any telecom operator like AT&T etc.
2. After unlcok, no changes you will observe other than you can enjoy services from any SIM card. :-)
3. I asked the question about ipsw because there are different ways of unlcoking the iphone.
4. Going with a situation where you have an ipsw and you want to restore it using iTunes,-
       a. Open iTunes
       b. When you connect your iphone to the computer, click on your iphone name which is under "Devices" on the left hand side of iTunes main screen.
      c. Press Shift button and click on Restore button
      d. This will open a file browse dialogue..now select the ipsw file you wanted to restore.
      e. Let iTunes/iPhone do what they want to do now. Relax till your ipsw gets restored.

Hope it helps!
