I have Vb.Net windows application which creates excel spreadsheets. I made some changes in the applications and it is working fine in the debug mode. when I try to publish it is aborting the process and giving me 2 error
1. Cannot publish because a project failed to build.
2. SignTool reported an error 'Failed to sign bin\Debug\VOCReport.publish\\setup.exe. SignTool Error: ISignedCode::Sign returned error: 0x80880253
The signer's certificate is not valid for signing.
SignTool Error: An error occurred while attempting to sign: bin\Debug\Report.publish\\setup.exe

What should I do?

I assume the other application used a new certificate? (Which is exactly why it works)
If your cert. expired, cant you just make a new one?
