Analysis of Perfmon data

I'm looking to do analysis on perfmon data, do you know of anything that we could use to import the data from perfmon to do analysis that allows us to look at the current time period, vs the prior, as well as ytd and even project where we think the performance will go to?

Hi Corneliavm,

There's a built in feature for Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 Server that allow you to convert a perfmon output file into excel format.  Excel should give you the ability to perform the analysis you'd like...

Found this within the MSDN (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q305858/)

relog filename.blg -f CSV -o newfile.csv

Hope this helps,
Ian

Excel has it's limitations with perfmon's data...so far it's not a good solution.  THanks

Hi Corneliavm,

I recently came across this post, and whilst I have not tried it myself it would be perfect for what you need...

How to Quickly Analyze your Windows Server 2008 Performance Monitor Logs
http://www.petri.co.il/analyze-windows-performance-logs.htm

It will run on 2003....
Requirements
Operating Systems - PAL runs successfully on all of the following operating systems: Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, and Windows 2003 Server. Also, PAL is 32-bit only due to the OWC11 requirements.
