How to make windows server 2008 server backup work on Dell PowerEdge 2950 server

Hi,

I just installed windows 2008 server with AD ds, and file services roles on a Dell powerEdge 2950 Server. This server has 4 750G SATA Disks connect on PERC 6/i integrated RAID controler. Raid 5, tow virtual drives. Virtual drive 0 with the utility partition at the beginning, system drive c: is on virual drive 1. Want to backup the system ( whole c with systemstate) with windows server backup utility, always failed with message: " a volume shadow copy operation failed." And with the following event log entries:

jfileds71, thank you.
I have tried diskpart to set the system partion active, and inactive the oem partition, didn't work. Right now, I am removing the oem partition, and install system c: on virtual disk 0. I will let you know, if the backup works this way.

After remove the oem partition, reconfigured the RAID 5, put system drive C: on virtual disk 0. The system backup worked.

I just upgrade to windows server 2008 R2 two days ago, the backup stoped working again. The problem is R2 upgrade wipedout hyper-v VSS writer registry settings I modified in the previous version. (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958662). Also, for R2 backup to work, you have to use diskpart to enable automount. (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/2004712)
