Trojan locked out system properties

I have a computer that got a Trojan w32.codec or something like that.  I managed to get rid of it but now for some reason it I go to control panel and then try to run the System Properties icon, I double click and nothing happens.  I am assuming that it has changed some privledges in the registry, any ideas?

Hi,

try

In the registry go to the following locations;

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Look in the right pane for NoPropertiesMyComputer at both locations.
If it exist, double click on it and change the Value from 1 to 0.

Have you tried going through safe mode? I would also run a virus/spyware check one last time while being in safe mode and run a sfc / scannow from the command prompt.
