Sharing RAM/CPU over LAN

I was wondering if there is any software where I can share my CPU (or other resources like RAM) of other computer via LAN or other connections.

I have 2 old boxes laying down and I decided to power them on and get some use of them by other PC's on LAN once they need more resources.

The terminology you're looking for is called "clusters" - using multiple computers together to accomplish a task. But the implementation is done on a case-by-case basis. You can setup clusters of storage servers or web servers using windows server edition. You can setup multiple computers in a cluster to perform a 3D render using 3D studio max. Specialized mathematics applications have been known to use clusters of computers to crunch out difficult computations. Some massive multiplayer games use clusters of servers to handle the workload.

But each implementation is very specific. You can't just have a computer "hand over" it's ram and cpu powers to another computer over the network. Rather you have software which is installed on all the computers, and specifically designed to work in a cluster environment.
