looking for a utility that I can load on a windows machine to listen on ports (to test connection)

I have a global migration of systems and to sort out firewall issues (since we have several of them on the path and some we do not manage).  Im dealing mainly with windows servers and want to know if there is a small application  I can load onto a windows server which will listen on certain ports I determine so I can telnet test the global firewall routing.

Could you let me know if you are aware of anything.

Use the telnet server tools to set whatever port you want telnet to listen to on your servers and then use Windows Firewall logging to view the connections.

You could setup a small webserver on these servers.

Take apache for example  - easy to setup - low profile.

Or even smaller

If you need to securely transfer files between computers, you can also use the free mini sftp server!

Download (or run, less than 1mb):         http://www.coreftp.com/server/download/msftpsrvr.exe
