provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified

Hello Experts,
I cannot connect a remote database server.When I try to login I get the following error:
provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified

I also attahed the screenshot of Database Configuration Manager tool settings. I have tried Surface Area Tools etc. but could not solve the problem.

    Accepted Solution

    Are you sure that your SQL Server instance is accepting remote connection?
    Check if the local/remote connections have been enabled for ur instamce....Launch SQL Server Surface Area configuration...Connections and services...Check Local and Network connections.....
     Also, make sure SQL Browser on the remote server is be enabled and UDP port 1434 should be put into exception if firewall presents.
