Laptop beeping while AC adapter is plugged in.

I have a Acer Aspire 3610 it boots just fine without any beeping for the bios/post. However it randomly will beep several times (never the same number) while powered on and plugged in.

The lights on the front of the laptop indicating the charger is plugged in don't change when its beeping. But it only does this while plugged into an outlet.

On occasion moving the laptop will cause it to beep as well.

Why does it do this?

You sure you have the right Acer power supply plugged in? It could be an overvoltage warning.

Its the adapter that shipped with the system when it was purchased.
Bad connection somewhere between wall outlet and laptop power jack... This is something some laptops do, they beep at connect/disconnect of AC power. If there's a bad connection you may have breaks/makes happening in a connector.

or bad AC...
it could be the AC adapter itself - can you test with another one ?
