Xp sp3. Had a virus that caused BSOD at boot. Booted from cd and deleted the file that was causing BSOD and then (as virus was confirmed) removed hard drive and scanned as a slave drive with Comodo, Malware Bytes, Bitdefender, then booted it up and did the same again with these progs installed.
USB not working (and wasn't before virus removal), but works fine before windows loads. No errors, no green arrow or "bleep" as usb is inserted or removed. Reinstalled all usb drivers.
Now when I show hidden devices in device manager I get what you see in the attached file (that weird name is what was causing the BSOD initially - znoh...) Was wondering if there were any infections still and if they somehow caused (are causing) this USB problem.
Have reinstalled SP3
Have removed Norton which was initially on here using NRT.
Have re-installed all USB drivers, even moved them from system32\drivers so more were copied back by xp (form where not sure)
Really dont want to re-install xp
I am well stumped.
