Symantec Backup Exec 12.5 - Media mount errors

I posted this already on the symantec boards but they leave a lot to be desired over there.

I am running 12.5 and my backup fails consistently with the following error:

Backup- D: Media mount failed.
User canceled a Physical Volume Library operation.
V-79-57344-33861 - The media operation was terminated by the user.

I've checked all the usual supects, backup size, tape corruption etc etc but it just happens for this one volume. My backup job covers two servers and everything else backs up fine. As soon as the job hits this volume I get this error and the job just sits there until it times out.

If I move the resource order so this volume is first it failes without backing anything up. If I move it to last it backs up all the other items (120gb's) and failes when it gets to this one.

I've searched but can not find the solution to this. Any help is appreciated. The obvious answer is the tape is full but it still fails if this volume is the only one I try to backup.

Any help is appreciated

Can I assume from your description that you can back up other volumes on the same server?
Is this a volume on the Backup Exec media server or is this a volume on a remote server?
Is this a normal file system volume? No DFS data? Any junction points? Anything else different than on the other volumes? What OS is this volume on?
If you back up one directory or a couple of files on the same volume, do you get problems?
Will the volume back up fine with NTBACKUP?
Has this volume ever backed up successfully?

If you tried backing up only this volume, I assume you did that by creating a completely new selection list, and not by editing the selection list that showed the first occurence of this problem?

I can back up other volumes on the same server. I can answer some of your other questions but not all so I will test these out and get back to you.

Things have got really busy so I have not had a chance to completely resolve this but clearly your suggestions are the proper way to go about it so I have awarded you the points.

When I nail this down I will post back.
