Host Unreachable when it used to be

I have a host who connects to our file server (192.168.168.8) and authenticates through our domain controller (192.168.168.6) all over VPN.  The network the host is on is 100.0 and this host has been communicating with the file server for almost about a year with no probles what so ever.

As of Wednesday, I cannot connect to the file server.  When i try to ping it, i get a host unreachable error but i am able to successfully ping 168.6 over the VPN perfectly fine as well as any other host on the 168.0 network.  Its just the 168.8 that i get this host unreachable error.

Can someone please help me out.

Thanks.

Oh, sorry forgot to mention that.  No firewall what so ever.  I turned off all firewall's (symantec and windows) on the client side and still doesnt work.  I control the VPN tunnels as well as the firewalls and havent changed a thing within that year so this is unexpected.
Just because you explicitly mention the client side; I assume you have also disabled the firewall on the file server itself. In that case, I have no idea.
No because everyone else on that network could access it.  You were right though it was the firewall on the client side.  There was an additional one that i overlooked.
