What version of ASE, Repserver, and what O/S and version are you on.

Well, first of all, are you adding a regular user or a rep user?  The error mentions sp_add_user_rep as being the piece of code with an error.

Your other question about Rep Server not hibernating adds additional information.  Basically, something is all jammed up between the database and Rep server.  At this point, I would shut everything down and restart it cleanly.  I doubt there is any way to clean up the mess without a complete restart of the database server, rep server, and throw in the xp_server and backup server as well.  In for a dime, in for a dollar.

Do that and let us know what happens.

BTW, when was the last good backup of the database done?

Regards,
Bill

Have you loaded syslogins by bcp from another server and then resynched? If yes, you may fix the issue by deleting orphan rows in sysattributes:

DELETE sysattributes
where object not in (select suid from syslogins )
and object_type = "PS"
and object_cinfo = "login"

(You need to set "allow updates to system tables" on to delete these rows by sp_configure)
