The system cannot find the path specified.

When I link a project in Visual Studio 2005 in the output messages right after the message that says

Embedding manifest...

I get the following message

The system cannot find the path specified.

But Visual Studio never tells me which path it is trying to find and whether or not that path is related to the manifest or not. I turned on all the verbose messaging I could and nothing helped. Is there some Environment variable that Visual Studio is using? Any help with this problem would be appreciated.

    Accepted Solution

I found the problem. It is a registry entry called "AutoRun" that causes this problem.
