WordPress: Can I have complex vertical and horizontal navigation bars

Dear Experts,
I have be trying to use WordPress for some time.  I am very pleased with the navigation properties that are possible with the theme Atahualpa.  If I create a hierarchy of pages I get very professional looking results with a navigation bar at the top featuring menus, sub-menus and sub-sub-menus.

Is there a plug-in or a them that would allow me to have a similarly complex navigation bar at the TOP and on the LEFT?
Best Wishes,

Do you mean the same navagation bar at the top and on the left, or would they be different?

Why would you want both?

If it is so you could see the navigation bar as you scrolled down, there are javascript nav bars (not built into Atahualpa) that would be at the top, and move down as the viewer scrolled down, i.e. the would always be at the top.

There  are also bars that could go on the left, and also move down as the viewer scrolls down.

Many different options. Can you answer the above questions and I will try to help you find what you want.

I want pages in my horizontal navigation bar and categories in the vertical bar.
Does the category list in the vertical bar stay frozen, or does it float down as you scroll down.

And you do have a permalink for each of the categories do you not (i.e. you are not going to expect the vertical menu to have subcategories for posts, are you)
The menu I was going to recommend is http://www.burmees.nl/menu/

I have used it in many applications, both as a horizontal and a vertical menu, each with multiple levels, and either frozen to the top, or floating down as the viewer scrolls down.

But it is not coupled in with WordPress.

For a specific entry you would have something like
Menu1_1_1_1=new Array("February, 2009","http://tulsahightech.com/feb09/feb2009.htm","",0,.05,.3,"", "", "", "", "", "",-1,-1,-1,"","");
in the file SinglePage3_var.js

I am almost certain you could use
Menu1_1_1_1=new Array("ABCDE","http://domainname.com/?cat=4","",0,.05,.3,"", "", "", "", "", "",-1,-1,-1,"","");
if the name of Cat4 is ABCDE, but I don't think the menu can pull that name out of the MySql database

However you presumably don't add new categories that often, so it should work.

There may be solutions to do it all in WordPress, but I have not seen them
