apache website stop showing files if there is no index.html and dont show apache version and OS

How do i stop my web server from showing the files in its directorys if there is no index.html and how do i also stop it from showing the apache/OS version?

if you browse to a dir without a index.html you get:

Index of /
[ICO]      Name      Last modified      Size      Description
[TXT]      robots.txt      09-Mar-2007 14:09       1.5K
[TXT]      stopwords.txt      13-Oct-2008 20:19       0
Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at www.domain1.com Port 80

remove Indexes from your Options directive

thanks for the quick reply, and that got 1/2 of it.  Now it shows:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at www.domain1.com Port 80

how do i get it to stop showing the last line?

add it to httpd.conf (or wherever your apache config is)
