HI

I am administrating a web server using Plesk 8.4 for windows, the main issue is that I have created a subdomain but it doesn´t seem to be working despite the subdirectory (even virtual directory) was created, I have uploaded the corresponding files but you can try to see what happens:

Error: soporte.dimensionav.com
fine: www.dimensionav.com/soporte/index.html

Thanks in advance.

It may have setup the subdomain as a virtual directory in the subdomains folder.

Login via FTP, and instead of going in to httpdocs, go into subdomains/soporte/httpdocs and see if there is an index.html file there.

aibusinesssolutions:

I have deleted everything in order to star all over again, there are a couple of options of subdomains:

1. physical hosting
2. subdomain in subfolder

Which would be the differences?

Thanks.

physical hosting will create a new folder under subdomains
subdomains/suporte/httpdocs/

subdomain in subfolder will create a subdomain off of a current folder in your website.
httpdocs/suporte/

The physical hosting will be set up as a completely separate application. If you are using .NET and want a separate application with its own web.config file and global.asax, you'll want to use physical hosting.  It will also have it's own web stats.  You'll have to go into the subdomain/httpdocs/ folder to access the files.

subdomain in subfolder can be accessed via domain.com/subfolder or subfolder.domain.com, and you can access the files under the httpdocs/subfolder folder.

Considering the structure of how a subdomain is created I was uploading the files to a wrong directory
