cannot dismiss outlook reminder

I placed an event on my Outlook calendar in December 2008, it was non recurring.

However, every time I open Outlook I receive a reminder for this event and all efforts to dismiss it are greeted with the message "Cannot turn off the reminder.  You may be reminded again.  Cannot locate recurrence information for this appointment".

Attempts to open the event via the reminder dialog box are greeted with the same error message, the event was deleted from my calendar in an attempt to stop these reminders.

Any help to stop these reminders would be appreciated.

Try starting Outlook with the /Cleanreminders switch.

    - Go to START menu and select RUN
    - Type in "Outlook.exe /CeanReminders"

This should hopefully fix your problem.
