How to lock internet browser?

While my customer submit a order from internet browser, I want to make a 5~8 second delay(depends on my setting) at the client side.
Can javascript popup a message box with no button to prevent user from doing any action until the 5~8 second delay has done?
Or there are any other method (at the client side)?
Thanks!

Javascript has no dialog like that, and iI would not use advise you to use something like that because you will never be able to be sure that the user does nothing rather assume that they can do something and code against that.

But is you absolutely have no other option you could maybe popup alerts in a loop until the time is up?

You can use facebox. This will completely block your Page UI for the required time and then you can hide the Facebox ui and can continue with your processing.

You might have to change the facebox css a bit for your use so that the background div covers the full page.

Another example could be:

Hope this helps...
