Hi, I restarted my server without switching on the backup exec. I found that when i tried to do inventory, it says Ready; no idle devices are available. Is this due to the fact that i started the server first than started the autoloader? Please advice. Thank you.

Most likely. Shut down the server, power one the loader, wait a minute or so and start the server.
