Adaptec 1220A RAID controller "plugging disk detected"

One of my two RAID 1 hard drives failed and I'm waiting for a replacement to be shipped. Meanwhile, the event log in the Adaptec management software shows a warning "Plugging disk detected (Controller 1, Channel 1, Device 1). What is a pluggin disk? There is nothing at the Adaptec knowledgbase explaining this.

    Hi Bruce,

The Adaptec controller maybe recognizing a new disk and willing to initialize it.

If you boot into the Adaptec bios, using CTRL+A, how many disks do you see ?

    Kind regards,
