The outlook.xml file gets corrupt.
You can find it at C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
close outlook
Delete the outlook.xml file (or make a backup copy of it) It will re-create it.
restart outlook.
reinstall your favorite.
close outlook and restart it to see if it stayed this time.

Hello AgapeInstruments,

Select Go (in upper menu bar), then Mail, and THEN open the navigation pane, where the Favorite
Folders will be found.

Here are ways to restore your Favorites

Hope this helps!

ASKER

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook does not exist when I looked.
I only have C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\...    (Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook) does not exist.
Any other thoughts.
YOu need to be able to view hidden folders.
You can also do a search for OUTLOOK.XML and make sure you have the search engine look for hidden files.  Then delete it.
AgapeInstruments, have you tried the suggestions that I posted?
This was a known issue in 2007 and should have been fixed in SP1:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9EC51594-992C-4165-A997-25DA01F388F5&displaylang=en

Check that SP1 is installed.
None of the above items corrected my problem. I still can not get Favorites to be created. I am trying to create a favorite of a item in a Public Folder. I had this created at one time and it dissappeared one day. Since then I can not recreate this Public Folder item as a favorite.
