SQL server 2005 cluster setup failing: Try using a valid copy of the installation pacakge sqlncli.msi

I have configured 2005 failover clustering many times, and I have never had this problem. When going through the installation, I keep getting the error in the screen shot attached. I have downloaded and the .iso several times. I have also tried this install directly from the console making sure nobody was logged in via terminal services. I even had the network admins extract the iso using a tool called power iso, and I still getting the error: "An installation package for the product Microsoft SQL server native client cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package 'sqlncli.msi'.

I have tried downloading the iso again from MS and extracting the files using a power iso tool.

Please help! I have to get this cluster built.

    Accepted Solution

Does Sql Server Native Client already exist on the server?
If so have you try uninstalling it from control panel and then running the SQL 2005 setup again.
