Flash and local database on desktop

I want to connect to an access database locally using Flash as a front-end and be able to package this on a cd.  In other words the Flash projector, files and access database will all be on the CD.  How would I do this?

Hi Dier02;

As far as I know Flash cant connect to database directly , you will need to use some other language to act as a middle man to interact between flash and database, you can use C Sharp for example and use a flash ocx in C Sharp to load your flash and send whatever value you want to save to access from Flash to C Sharp and use C sharp to open a connection and store it to Access database.

fscommand is the function you call that can interact with C Sharp.

Why wouldn't you just write a C# program and access the database directly through that in that case?

Hi Dier02,

That depend on your requirement, flash are more easy to create animation effect in compare to csharp some people may want to save time writing code for that part. but if you want to connet to MS SQL directly through Flash then I dont think is possible. For the csharp combine with flash is just a suggestion.
