Software Questions

Hello,

I'm looking for free but also good and reliable AntiVirus program and an alternate to Office Suite. I need to still be able to open Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access files though. Is there anything out there?

The best freeware office suite available is http://www.openoffice.org/

For AntiVirus, I recommend AVG. http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html

So, you have experienced some problem with your Office stuff in your current/previous AV...right?

I personally recommend Kaspersky AV which is not free...

or Symantec Corporate:

Best regards...

Hi Earshel,

Would OpenOffice still open Access DB's? Also, what do you recomend for a free firewall?

Thanks!!

Yes. I believe that OO will open DBA files. For a free firewall, I recommend Zonealarm.
