How do I make a css container expand to fit a content div

My website has a white content box, but I don't know how to get the white box to expand to fit the content in the textcolumn div. You can see what I mean if you if you click 'About'.

you have fixed your content height to 590px in your class "content", try removing it.

When remove the, everything seems to work fine in IE but when you click About using Firefox, class  'content' loses its white background and the text seems to enlarge, as does the whole page.
