SBS 2008 Premium shut down both servers if power fails

I have SBS 2008 on two Dell poweredge 2900 III. My UPS is an APC Smart UPS 2200i.
I connected the USB to the main server.
I want that if there is a power fails both servers shut down correctly. I preffer not to install powerchute. Because I listened that the less software on the server is better.

If you want that servers to shutdown correctly, then install UPS software (powerchute). It will not hurt you, for this is designed
